Happy Valentines Day! A big thank you to everyone who has participated in our VDay contest! Keep them coming until Friday night, as a $50 gift certificate is up for grabs. It's been a week full of watching youtube videos, though thankfully some new stock arrived yesterday to pull us away from the computer. We received a pile of dress from Lily & Jae (see below), along with a dress and pant style from Dace. Also, this week we received Pyrrha pendants, dresses from Edmonton's own Serendipity, and more kids' books from Simply Read Books.
To celebrate the new arrivals, and to show our love for you this Valentine's Day, we are having a sale. Our 'Be Your Own Valentine Sale' will run from Thursday February 11 to Monday February 15. Everything in the shop will be 15% off. And when I say everything, I mean it! This includes our brand new spring stock, our already discounted fall stock and all accessories.
We will be open on Family Day, from 12-5 pm, so hopefully you'll be able to pop by sometime this weekend to enjoy our Valentine's Day present to you!
hey! wanna win a $50 gift certificate to nokomis? it's easy! in honour of v-day, which is quickly approaching, just post (in the comments section) a clip of your favorite romantic scene from a movie. yup, that's all! you have all week to think of your favorite clip, and to post it. we'll be accepting entries until midnight on friday, evaluating all day saturday and posting the winner on sunday.
it doesn't have to be a traditional romantic scene, just something that knocks your socks off, makes you giggle, leaves butterflies in your stomach, or something of that nature. amelie is my favorite movie, and this is my favorite clip:
which might seem silly, it's the last scene, but they're so happy together! giggly and cute, and quirky together. it was a scene that always gave me hope, that even though my friends called me 'too-picky', i was just really holding out for my own nino. i love happy endings.
post away! and if you don't have a blogger account, make sure you leave your name or something so we can identify you! good luck, oh, and only one entry per person, s'il vous plait. xox.
it's not to late to get yourself organized in 2010. we still have a few beautiful veekee agenda's kicking around, for the low, low price of $29! Also, veekee's agendas are dateless, so it's not like you have missed out on a month of organization. it's never to late! (also, never to late to start the 'exercise resolution', right? next week! i swear!).
while i was out running errands the other day (ikea! michaels! fun!) i decided to try my luck with vintage shoes. apparently it was my lucky day! check out my finds:
size 7.5
size 7.5

size 7
size 6
size 7.5
size 5 (uh! i know!)
size 8
size 10
size 6.5
size 9.5-10

size 6.5
just a warning that the sizes are best-guesstimates. often on the bottom on the shoe, you'll see we wrote 7-ish or 9-ish, we don't have a tried and true system. so it's always best to come on in and try on shoes in your general size range. also, just a reminder boots are $49, short boots $35, and shoes are only $25.
good news! you love the cards as much as i do! whew. the cards from regional assembly of text have been doing extremely well, which means we get to keep bringing them in. you have made me one happy girl. thank you.
here are a few of my favorites:
butterflies in stomach, with spinning wheel, $5
My Feelings for You are Like, with pull out, $5
all of the options, my favorite is either 'popping bubble wrap' or 'a home run'
Just Writing to Say, with spinning wheel, $5 (shown is: hello there)
there are about four or five options with this card. this part of the wheel reads: thinking of you often.
we also have lots of good ones for valentines day. be it for your bf or gf or best friend or your mom.
We got in two new styles from local sweet heart Janna, designer and everything else of Cinder + Smoke. Janna's collection always does well at noko. She seems to have our girl in mind when drafting up new designs. They always consist of flattering shapes and irresitable fabrics, so when you wear them, you are cool as a cucumber. Basically you look super cute, without even having to try. (Which, well, you already are, but help from an outfit never hurts).
We got in the Jasmine top, in purple gingham, for 120:
and the Aster jacket in beige, 239:
And just a teaser:
The Calla dress, 180, will be arriving shortly and just thinking about it makes me heart beat faster. eeeeiiiiii!
Also, side note: this beautiful catalogue was shot at my pal Beth's house. Beth inspires me in so many ways, interior design is just one small speck. xox.
Nokomis is an Ojibwa word meaning 'my grandmother’.
