ginger the cat

it was bring your pet to work this past thursday! ginger came to the shop with me, while simone stayed at home to keep an eye on things. ginger, who is an explorer, was slow to warm up, but soon made the shop her home (until a customer came in, then she'd scurry back to the office, which was her home base).

i was interviewed this week by a Human Ecology student, who had asked what were some of the perks of working for yourself. i forget to mention that being able to bring your pet to work with you was a major one.

ginger never stays long in one place, she's too busy: too much to do too much to see.

she's cute, huh? simone is a darling as well, but not as up for exploring as ginger is. she also has a really annoying habit of crying in the car, which makes me want to leave her at home even more. but i think ginger might make a few more apperances, but she'll probably be hiding out as soon as you step foot in the store.

first day!

look how cute our new girl is! kristena had her first day of work at nokomis, and she was kind enough to pose in front of the camera for me. what a big day, her internet debut! i'm sure you'll see lots more of her on here, and in the shop too. here she is modelling some new pieces:

pyrrha special orders

now that halloween is over, us boutiques owner need to start thinking about the fast approaching holiday season. i promise no decorations or themed music until at least the end of november, but if you do want to give your loved one the gift of pyrrha for the holidays let us know. tara and i are putting in our holiday pyrrha order on friday morning, to ensure that it arrives in time for you to wrap it up and slide it under the tree. we are going to get lots of different seals, so you will have lots to choose from but if you want to guarentee a specific seal, give us a shout this week and we'll put in a special order for you, and you alone.

smoking lily!

finally! new smoking lily! sorry for not having any smoking lily for you guys for eon's, completely my bad. it was just one of those things you know you have to do, you think about it everyday, but you just never get your ass in gear. anywhoo, i gave the girls a call last week and TA-DA! we have so much new smoking lily!

i can't help but think of christmas gifts when i see their designs (is it too early to mention christmas? before halloween, is that some kind of taboo?). smoking lily is just one of those things that you want to share with your friends and family. i bought my dad a tee-shirt for christmas and my soon-to-be-born (any day now! due date is oct 31!) nephew an onesie.

we got in so many styles i couldn't possibly name them all. or could i? Tea towels, tea cozy's, silk ascots, cotton scarfs, onesies, men's shirts, bike bags, slippers, boatnecks, obi belts and capes! okay, that's definitely not it, we got in lots of clothing styles too, like skirts (petite anglaise, denim sooke), dresses (pool hall dress in bamboo, tee shirt dress), and tops (hama hama, calamity jane, wanderluxe, elle mariachi). here is a small sampling:
