we hate this place here; it's our home

Josh and David dropped off copies of the first chapter of the graphic novel, "We Hate This Place Here; It's Our Home" at the shop this week. Josh, a local illustrator (http://www.holinaty.com/) and David, a local writer (http://pleasuremotors.wordpress.com/) (and for full blogging integrity, someone who I give frequent back rubs too) teamed up on this story about the adventures of a group of anthropomorphic bisons in Edmonton during Christmas. Christmas in Edmonton is always a bit of a fucked up time, old friends coming home from the holidays, old/new expectations and obligations, lots of drinking, demands from family, not to mention freezing cold weather. To find out more, check out this article in SEE Magazine.

The book is available for $15, and we only have 10 copies. (Eden Lilly has 10 copies too). And once they are sold, they're gone, no more reprints. The next chapter is due March-ish. This is the perfect gift to give your pals that are moving away or that are coming home to visit this christmas (unless of course you just want to keep it for yourself, which, i totally understand). Oh, and one more thing, if you dig the novel, join the facebook group and then you can stay in touch regarding the next 5 chatpers (have i mentioned there will be 6 in total?). Anyway, here is a little teaser for you.
